Osiedlegalaktyka.pl – Housing Investment Website in Szczecin
Osiedlegalaktyka.pl is a professional project in my WordPress developer portfolio, realised as a website promoting a modern residential estate in Szczecin, located in Warszewo. Around 2015, this platform served as the official website for the developer investment “Osiedle Galaktyka”, offering information on available apartments, location, and the technical specifications of the buildings. My task was to design and implement a responsive WordPress-based site optimised for performance, usability, and search engine visibility using the technologies available at that time. The project stood out with its clear presentation of the offer and effective support for apartment sales.
The purpose of the site and its audience
The aim of Osiedlegalaktyka.pl was to provide potential buyers with detailed information about the “Osiedle Galaktyka” investment – a complex of intimate multi-family buildings in the Północ district of Szczecin. The site was intended to present the apartment offer, a location map, and facilitate contact with the developer. The target group comprised residents of Szczecin and its surroundings, looking for modern apartments in a developing part of the city, as well as investors interested in the real estate market.
Site functionalities
- Apartment catalogue: Presentation of available units with descriptions of floor areas (from 38 to 148 m²), layouts and photos, based on custom post types in WordPress.
- Interactive map: Implementation of a Google map showing the estate’s location at Galaktyki and Plejady streets, integrated via API and the Google Maps plugin.
- Contact form: An enquiry system implemented using the Contact Form 7 plugin, enabling quick contact with the sales office.
- Responsiveness: Full compatibility with mobile devices thanks to a theme based on Bootstrap 3.
- Developer SEO: Optimisation for phrases such as “mieszkania Warszewo” and “Osiedle Galaktyka Szczecin”, using All in One SEO Pack and an XML sitemap.
- Investment gallery: A section with photos of the buildings and visualisations, managed by the NextGEN Gallery plugin.
Challenges and solutions
The implementation of Osiedlegalaktyka.pl required overcoming technical challenges using technologies from 2015:
- Performance with multimedia: A large number of images and visualisations slowed down the site – I used Cloudflare CDN and caching via W3 Total Cache, which improved loading speed.
- Dynamic map: Integrating the Google Maps API required key optimisation and custom JavaScript scripts to display the location on large digital billboards.
- Security: I ensured the stability of the site by updating WordPress to version 4.3, configuring caching on the Apache server, and performing daily backups with BackupBuddy.
- SEO and promotion: I optimised the content for local queries by using All in One SEO Pack and creating unique meta descriptions for each subpage.
